Pope Francis issued a plea on Sunday, urging the warring factions in Sudan to bring an end to a 10-month conflict causing mass displacement and raising famine concerns.
During his Angelus message, the Pope implored the parties involved to halt the damaging war, emphasizing the severe impact on the people and the nation’s future.
He urged prayers for the discovery of peaceful solutions for the beloved Sudan. Despite diplomatic efforts, the civil war persists, involving the country’s armed forces and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).
In his customary Sunday address, the Pope also addressed conflicts in Mozambique, Ukraine, Israel, and the Palestinian territories, highlighting the exhaustion and futility of wars that bring only death and destruction without offering solutions.
