Sudan’s RSF announced on Friday that it had taken significant steps to address the worsening humanitarian crisis in the country.
“Directives are designed to guarantee the execution of our pledge to enable humanitarian access and deliver crucial assistance to individuals in distress across all towns, villages, and rural areas under our protection,” the group said.
The RSF statement highlighted the vital significance of unhindered humanitarian aid, stressing the necessity to protect teams and volunteers from humanitarian organizations.
Any obstruction to the delivery of aid will not be tolerated, the statement said.
The group said it is committed to the Jeddah Declaration, which focuses on improving humanitarian access in the country.
“This commitment was further reinforced by the introduction of the “Lifeline” project and was reaffirmed in recent dialogues with a range of global actors,” the statement said.
The RSF called upon the international community and organizations to fulfill their responsibilities by delivering urgent aid to the hundreds of thousands of vulnerable women, children, and elderly individuals on the verge of catastrophe.
