SAF drone strike kills 2, injures 20+ in Sudan’s Khartoum

A drone strike by General al-Burhan’s army (SAF) killed at least two people and injured more than 20 others on Friday at a fuel market in south Khartoum, according to a local activist.

The strike targeted fuel vendors at Al-Sahrij station in the Ad Hussein area, an area largely controlled by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Mohamed Kandsha, a spokesperson for the South Belt Emergency Room, reported that this was the second deadly drone strike in the area in recent weeks, following an October 22 attack that killed 24 and injured 27.

The southern belt of Khartoum, including neighborhoods such as Al-Ingaz, Al-Salama, Al-Azhari, Ad Hussein, and Mayo, has been a hotspot for intense clashes between SAF and the RSF.

Frequent airstrikes and artillery shelling in these areas have led to significant civilian casualties.
