Mohamed Hassan Osman al-Ta’aishi was sworn in on Sunday as Prime Minister of the Sudan Founding Alliance (TASIS) government, known as the Peace Government, in a ceremony held in Nyala, South Darfur.
The swearing-in took place before Presidential Council Chairman Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo and Chief Justice Ramadan Ibrahim Shamila, one day after Dagalo, his deputy, and other members of the Presidential Council — including eight regional governors — took the oath of office.
Dagalo had earlier issued a constitutional decree appointing al-Ta’aishi as Prime Minister, following consensus within TASIS’s coalition.
In parallel with the ceremony, the Presidential Council convened its first official session in Nyala. The meeting reviewed priorities for the founding phase of the Peace Government, including easing living conditions for citizens, restoring essential services, bolstering security and stability, and addressing urgent humanitarian concerns.
Vice President Abdelaziz Adam al-Hilu said the session also discussed a roadmap for presidential action, strategic plans to complete governance structures, and responses to Sudan’s ongoing political and economic challenges.
