The Sudan Founding Alliance (Tasis) declared parts of Jebel Marra a natural-disaster emergency zone after heavy rains triggered landslides in Tarsin village, causing multiple deaths. In a statement, Tasis offered condolences to families of the victims and said it will mobilize all Peace Government resources to support affected communities.
The alliance announced full cooperation with the Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdel Wahid Mohamed al-Nur and called on regional and international humanitarian organizations to intervene urgently. A government emergency committee has been formed to coordinate assessments, share initial data, and channel assistance to those in need as quickly as possible.
Tasis urged unified efforts to overcome the crisis, noting that response capacity has been strained by the ongoing conflict with Port Sudan-based forces. The statement was issued by Dr. Alaa al-Din Awad Naqd, Tasis spokesperson, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
