MSF is leaving parts of North Darfur as Sudan fighting intensifies

Doctors Without Borders (MSF) has said it was forced to withdraw from areas in North Darfur due to fighting between General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army and the rival Rapid Support Forces.

The localities of Kornoi, Tine, and Um Baru have seen a sharp rise in strikes, prompting hundreds of civilians to flee toward Chad.

Since Oct. 24, MSF teams in Tine, Chad, have treated 50 civilians injured due to fighting in North Darfur, the organization said.

The humanitarian group said it was “temporarily forced to withdraw” but is working to return and continue supporting healthcare facilities despite ongoing risks.

MSF is deeply concerned about the impact of the fighting on civilians, said Dago Inagbe.
