US presidential adviser Massad Boulos has refused to meet General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, setting clear political and security conditions.
Boulos said talks would proceed only if Burhan accepts Quartet proposals aimed at reviving stalled international mediation efforts on Sudan’s crisis.
He also urged Burhan to enter dialogue with the Rapid Support Forces, signalling Washington’s push for negotiated de-escalation rather than military dominance.
The adviser further demanded the removal of extremist elements from the Sudanese army, framing the move as essential for legitimacy and stability.
