TASIS govt launches reconstruction plan for West Kordofan

Following the region’s recent liberation, Sudan’s Tasis government and its allied forces have unveiled an ambitious reconstruction plan for West Kordofan.

The initiative seeks to reverse years of conflict by rebuilding war-damaged areas and restoring civil life across the region.

Officials said the plan prioritises the rehabilitation of essential infrastructure, with hospitals and schools at the forefront to support returning residents.

It also includes community-based governance frameworks aimed at giving local populations a greater role in managing resources and setting development priorities.

To address economic decline, the administration is focusing on reviving agricultural projects and reopening key trade routes critical to local livelihoods.

Security forces have pledged to protect reconstruction efforts and ensure humanitarian aid reaches vulnerable communities without interruption.

The campaign is seen as a key step in the parallel government’s efforts to consolidate domestic legitimacy. For many in West Kordofan, the announcement offers a rare note of hope after years of violence and instability.
