West Darfur authorities have dispatched a humanitarian aid convoy to El Fasher, signalling renewed regional cooperation amid Sudan’s protracted conflict.
The convoy carries essential food, medical supplies, and shelter materials aimed at easing severe shortages facing civilians in North Darfur.
Officials said the initiative reflects West Darfur’s commitment to humanitarian responsibility despite ongoing insecurity and limited resources.
Alongside the aid delivery, West Darfur announced its active participation in reconstruction efforts across war-damaged areas of North Darfur.
The reconstruction plan focuses on restoring basic services, rebuilding infrastructure, and supporting displaced communities struggling to return home.
Local leaders described the move as a message of solidarity, stressing that Darfur’s recovery depends on collective action between its states.
The convoy arrived in El Fasher under heavy security, highlighting both the urgency of assistance and the fragile conditions on the ground.
