Rehabilitation work has begun at the Academy and Sudanese Football Association buildings, marking a step towards sporting recovery.
The project includes installing solar-powered lighting for the stadium and offices, improving energy reliability amid ongoing infrastructure challenges.
Maintenance teams also serviced electrical generators and repaired and installed water pumps to ensure uninterrupted daily operations.
Officials said the upgrades aim to improve the working environment and restore essential services within key sports facilities.
The work was led by the maintenance committee under Professor Nasr al-Din Hamidati, in coordination with academy official Muhammad al-Mahdi.
Their efforts reflect a broader commitment to reviving sports life after extensive damage caused by recent conflict.
Crews removed dense trees inside the stadium and treated shell damage across the pitch and surrounding areas.
The repairs follow a recent visit by football association vice president Osama Atta Al-Mannan Hassan, who pledged support for renewed activity.
Officials hope the restored facilities will help pave the way for the return of organised sport to the capital’s tri-city area.
