The Rapid Support Forces (RSF) strongly denied reports claiming hundreds of women, some with children, were detained in Nyala, South Darfur.
RSF officials called these claims “completely baseless,” insisting no credible evidence supports narratives circulated by media linked to the Muslim Brotherhood’s terrorists.
The forces warned news agencies and human rights organisations against accepting information from propaganda outlets that have repeatedly exploited gender issues for political gain.
“These outlets pursue a systematic campaign to damage our reputation, spreading lies disconnected from reality and logic,” RSF stated in an official release.
The RSF affirmed that security across Darfur’s cities and villages remains stable, highlighting their ongoing efforts to protect civilians and maintain order.
“Those responsible for ensuring public safety cannot simultaneously harm citizens or violate their rights within the areas under their control,” the statement added.
Officials urged media and human rights organisations to exercise professionalism, rely on independent sources, and verify facts before reporting on sensitive issues.
The RSF called on reporters to avoid misleading campaigns that distort reality, misrepresent facts, and manipulate public opinion for political purposes.
In closing, the statement honoured fallen RSF members, invoking mercy and forgiveness for the group’s martyrs who served in Darfur’s volatile environment.
