Tasis completes Julidat village to house displaced families

The Sudan Founding Alliance government, Tasis, has announced the completion of Julidat village, a housing project built to resettle families returning from displacement camps.

The new settlement is intended to provide a permanent home for hundreds of people seeking to rebuild their lives after years of upheaval.

Designed to encourage community living, the village offers modern homes equipped with basic services to ensure families can return in dignity.

Tasis officials said the project goes beyond housing. An economic recovery programme has also been launched to help residents achieve long-term self-sufficiency.

Each household has received seeds and essential farming tools, with authorities aiming to turn the surrounding land into productive farmland.

Small-scale income-generating projects have also been introduced, helping residents move away from reliance on aid and towards active participation in the local economy.

The village replaces rows of temporary tents with permanent structures, marking a significant step in efforts to close displacement camps.

Officials described Julidat as the first in a series of planned developments.

With the first harvest approaching, residents say they are looking ahead to a more stable and secure future.
