Sudanese people protest Burhan junta, paralyzing traffic

Sudanese protesters opposing General Abdel Fattah al Burhan-led junta administration blocked national highway between Suakin and Port Sudan on Monday.

Witnesses said closure near bus station north of Suakin halted traffic across eastern Sudanese states along key corridor major transport.

Demonstrators said protest targeted government campaign to remove kiosks and roadside stalls regulating public appearance and urban order measures ongoing.

Protesters warned removals threaten livelihoods, rejecting ongoing clearance operations carried out by authorities in the area during past hours forcefully.

Local authorities have not yet issued statement on blockade or steps planned to address escalating disruption situation remains unresolved officially.
