Tensions between Sudan’s General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan-led junta and Ethiopia have escalated after drone strikes hit sites inside Sudan, including Khartoum International Airport.
Burhan-controlled government says the drones were launched from Ethiopian territory, prompting a diplomatic crisis and the recall of Sudan’s ambassador from Addis Ababa.
Foreign Minister Mohi El-Din Salem warned of a strong response under international law and accused Ethiopia of escalating the conflict, while also criticising international silence over attacks on civilian infrastructure.
Ethiopia denied the allegations and accused Sudan of supporting armed opposition groups, deepening mutual accusations.
Saudi Arabia and Egypt condemned the attack on Khartoum airport, warning that continued escalation could threaten regional stability in the Horn of Africa.
