Sudanese groups condemn Burhan’s army strike on civilian truck

A drone strike in Sudan has killed at least 15 civilians, deepening fears over escalating violence in the country’s ongoing conflict.

The United Civil Forces (UFC) said a civilian truck carrying 37 passengers was hit while travelling between Khami village and Abu Zabad city.

The group condemned the General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army attack, saying it struck unarmed travellers in an already fragile and conflict-weary region.

The UFC spokesman Othman Abdel Rahman Suleiman described the strike as a “heinous crime” and part of wider violations against civilians.

The “Qimam” movement also denounced the attack, calling it a war crime and warning of potential ethnic tensions linked to the violence.

Both groups have urged international intervention, calling for an independent investigation and stronger accountability measures to prevent further attacks on civilians.
