Internal Burhan’s army fighting closes Sudanese supply route

Violent clashes erupted on Sunday among General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s army’s elements at a checkpoint along the strategic Northern Artery Road.

The confrontation began at kilometer 7 when joint forces vehicles bypassed a security barrier, triggering immediate defensive gunfire.

Retaliating swiftly, the factions returned in two combat vehicles to open fire on the checkpoint personnel, escalating the dispute.

The firefight resulted in six injuries, wounding two of Burhan’s army soldiers and four members of the allied joint forces coalition.

The vital transit route, linking the city of Omdurman to the Northern State, remains paralyzed by intense security tension.

Military units are on high alert as commanders attempt to contain the incident before it destabilizes the broader region.
