US’ Boulos announced progress on the Sudan crisis

US President’s Advisor for African and Arab Affairs, Massad Boulos, said international partners have made tangible progress on efforts to address the Sudan crisis.

He said the United States and its partners support a political process leading to civilian rule, based on the Berlin Declaration of Principles and backed by broad international consensus.

In an interview with Al-Mashhad TV, Boulos endorsed a five-member committee tasked with launching a Sudanese civilian-led dialogue aimed at forming a transitional government.

He added that ongoing work builds on understandings reached at the Berlin meeting, including a joint international statement focused on advancing peace efforts, delivering humanitarian relief and supporting state reconstruction.

Boulos said the initiatives reflect the seriousness of international efforts to end the war, restore stability and return Sudan to a civilian-led political framework.
