
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi met Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki in Cairo to discuss the worsening conflict in Sudan and its impact on regional stability.
The talks come amid growing concern among neighbouring countries over the consequences of Sudan’s ongoing civil war, which has fueled humanitarian suffering and heightened security risks across the region.
During the meeting, Sisi stressed that preserving Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity remains a key priority for Egypt’s national security.

Egypt and Eritrea discussed ways to strengthen diplomatic efforts aimed at supporting stability in Sudan and preventing further deterioration of the situation.

The meeting also highlighted shared concerns about security in the Red Sea region and the broader Horn of Africa, where ongoing tensions continue to pose challenges for regional stability.
