A prominent Arab nomadic tribe in Sudan’s Darfur region has strongly condemned members who joined General Abdel Fattah al Burhan’s SAF.
The Al-Mahamid tribe said those who aligned with the “Muslim Brotherhood Army” had betrayed both their community and fighters who were killed in the conflict.
The statement highlights growing tensions within Arab tribal groups as Sudan’s war continues to reshape alliances across Darfur.
Tribal leaders warned that those who switched sides would face social rejection and would no longer be accepted within the community.
As the conflict continues, shifting loyalties and high-profile defections are adding to uncertainty and placing increasing strain on tribal unity across the region.
