The river steamship Sinai has arrived at the sun-bleached port of Wadi Halfa in northern Sudan on its second major voyage.
The vessel brought home 602 Sudanese citizens as part of a coordinated voluntary return programme managed in cooperation with neighbouring Egypt.
The passengers, described as weary but hopeful, travelled from the historic city of Aswan before boarding the steamer for their journey across the border.
This arrival marks the latest stage in a wider, multi-layered transport effort aimed at returning displaced people to their home regions.
Trains, river steamers and buses are all being used together to help move thousands of Sudanese citizens back home.
At Wadi Halfa port, local authorities processed arrivals quickly to ensure an orderly and smooth reception.
Many returnees expressed relief as they set foot on Sudanese soil after months of displacement and uncertainty.
Officials say the ongoing repatriation effort reflects a broader push to restore stability and help communities rebuild across Sudan.
