Tire blowout triggers catastrophic bus rollover in Sudan

A catastrophic bus rollover turned a joyful tourist trip into sudden heartbreak along Sudan’s sun-drenched Atbara-Port Sudan highway last night.

A sudden tire blowout combined with excessive speed caused the driver to lose control near the Al-Zahtib region.

The violent crash claimed two lives, including seven-year-old Razan Jamal Juma and adult passenger Yasser Mirghani Makki.

Eighteen other travelers sustained varying injuries as the vehicle veered wildly off the asphalt into the unforgiving desert landscape.

Emergency responders rushed the wounded survivors to Atbara Hospital for urgent medical treatment following the devastating highway incident.

Among the injured were students and professionals hailing from diverse regions, including Khartoum, Port Sudan, and the White Nile.

Local authorities issued reminders regarding the lethal danger that high speeds pose on these heavily traveled northern transit corridors.
