Escalating violence along Sudan’s western border has forced thousands of civilians in West Darfur to flee their homes once again.
The International Organization for Migration says clashes in Bir Saliba displaced about 6,650 people from 11 nearby communities.
The Rapid Support Forces say they have taken control of the strategic border area after heavy fighting with aligned joint forces with Sudan Armed Forces.
Many displaced families are now choosing between seeking shelter within Serba district or crossing into neighbouring Chad.
