The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North announced it had regained control of Kauda, its stronghold in South Kordofan state.
Videos released by the group showed fighters entering local government headquarters, after a brief takeover by Otoro tribesmen.
The movement denied killing dozens of Atoro tribe members in the Um Hitan area, calling the reports false.
It said roughly three thousand Atoro civilians had reached Dalami since July twentieth, fleeing a land dispute with the Shawaya tribe.
Two hundred armed Otoro fighters were transferred to a military base in Tongoli for questioning, the statement added.
The conflict traces back to 2020, when tribes disputed a border demarcation linked to contested gold mining territory.
Rapid Support Forces commander Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo had mediated a ceasefire appeal last week.
The Sudanese Doctors Network earlier reported twenty-seven people killed, including four children, in related attacks.
