Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has claimed that the overthrow of Iran’s government is within reach, describing it as Israel’s principal remaining objective against Tehran.
Speaking alongside Defence Minister Israel Katz, military Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir and other senior commanders at an event in Tel Aviv, Netanyahu said the Iranian leadership was struggling to survive and was weaker than ever.
“I am confident that we can eliminate this threat once and for all and bring down the Iranian regime, which is fighting for its survival,” Netanyahu said, according to Israel’s Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper.
Addressing Israel’s adversaries, he added: “Do not test us. We have the strength, determination and internal unity to defeat you.”
Netanyahu said Iran’s government was currently “reeling,” arguing that its removal was neither impossible nor distant.
“Toppling this regime is the main mission still ahead of us, but it is close. It is not impossible—it is within reach,” he said.
The remarks represent one of Netanyahu’s most explicit public calls for regime change in Iran and come amid heightened regional tensions involving Israel, Iran and the United States.
