A video showing Sudan’s military chief Abdel Fattah al-Burhan playing cards with civilians and soldiers in Khartoum has circulated widely on social media, attracting attention across the country.
The footage, reported by local Sudanese media on Tuesday, shows Burhan, who also heads the Transitional Sovereignty Council, sitting on the ground among a group of men and dealing playing cards during an informal gathering.
Burhan appears to be participating in a game locally known as kotshina, a popular card game in Sudan.
The video has generated considerable online attention, with users sharing clips of the military leader interacting with civilians and soldiers outside the formal settings typically associated with his public appearances.
Local media reported that the encounter took place on a street in Khartoum, although the precise location and date of the recording have not been independently verified.
