Chad’s defence minister, another official resign after sex tapes leaked

Chad’s defense minister and the government’s general secretary resigned on Wednesday, as confirmed by an administration spokesperson.

The resignations followed the circulation of two separate sex tapes purportedly featuring these individuals, which had been widely shared on social media.

Prime Minister Saleh Kebzabo has acknowledged the resignations of Defense Minister Daoud Yaya Brahim and the Government’s General Secretary Haliki Choua Mahamat, according to a statement from Kebzabo’s spokesperson.

The videos, which circulated on both Sunday and Monday, reportedly depicted the individuals participating in intimate activities with other individuals.

Sexual scandals are infrequent in Chad, which is primarily a Muslim nation with traditional and conservative societal norms.
