
In a move to solidify existing relations and explore new avenues for cooperation, Speaker of the Ethiopian House of Peoples’ Representatives, Tagese Chafo, hosted a bilateral meeting with a Djiboutian delegation led by President of the National Council, Dileita Mohamed Dileita.
The discussions focused on fostering closer ties between the two nations, particularly in the political and economic spheres.
Both sides acknowledged the long-standing people-to-people connection and expressed a commitment to further enhancing it.
Speaker Chafo highlighted Ethiopia’s ongoing efforts to promote shared development throughout the region, emphasizing the interconnectedness of Ethiopia and Djibouti through various infrastructures like roads, railways, and electricity grids.
He urged parliamentarians from both countries to play an active role in strengthening political and economic relations.
Recognizing the crucial role of regional security and stability, the two sides agreed to prioritize these aspects in their collaborative efforts.
Additionally, they stressed the importance of integrating both nations into the broader development agenda of the region.
The Djiboutian delegation’s three-day official visit to Ethiopia signifies a renewed commitment to bolstering strategic cooperation between the two countries. President Dileita Mohamed Dileita is scheduled to deliver a speech to the House of People’s Representatives on Thursday, further solidifying the momentum towards a deeper partnership.
This visit marks a significant step in solidifying the long-standing bond between Ethiopia and Djibouti, paving the way for increased collaboration on various fronts and promising further progress towards shared prosperity and regional stability.
