Deadly attack on Cameroonian military camp by Boko Haram

At least three members of Cameroon’s Defense and Security Forces were killed during an armed assault on Monday.

Suspected Boko Haram militants launched the attack on the Ngouma military camp in the Logone-et-Chari department of the Far North Region.

According to local media outlet Journal de Cameroun, the attackers stormed the camp, seizing weapons and igniting a military vehicle.

The assault underscores the ongoing security challenges posed by Boko Haram in the region, which began its insurgency in 2009.

Initially focused in northeastern Nigeria, the group has since expanded its violent activities to neighboring Niger, Chad, and Cameroon.

Military forces across the region have intensified efforts to combat Boko Haram’s deadly insurgency, which has devastated countless lives.
