A Djibouti drone strike near the Ethiopian border killed eight rebels and caused civilian casualties, authorities confirmed Sunday.
The defense ministry said the attack targeted a “terrorist group” in Addorta, six kilometers from Ethiopia, citing “hostile actions” as justification.
Government advisor Alexis Mohamed identified the militants as members of FRUD-A, a rebel faction accused of destabilizing northern Djibouti.
Ethiopian media claimed the strike occurred on Ethiopian soil, but Djibouti denied this.
Ethiopian officials have not responded.
