Following a meeting between the leaders of both nations on Monday, Emirates Airlines is set to promptly resume flight services to Nigeria and will also lift the visa ban on Nigerian travelers, Nigerian presidency announced on Monday.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and President of the United Arab Emirates Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan convened on Monday in Abu Dhabi to lift the visa ban and to reach an agreement on fresh investments in Africa’s largest economy.
In the previous month, Tinubu expressed his desire for a swift resolution to the disputes with Emirates Airline and the visa-related matters involving the Arab country.
Last year, the UAE ceased the issuance of visas to Nigerians following the suspension of flights by Dubai’s Emirates, which was prompted by challenges in repatriating funds from Nigeria.
