Equatorial Guinea VP warns officials after office sex video leak

In response to the release of explicit videos involving a high-ranking civil servant, Equatorial Guinea’s Vice President Teodoro Obiang Mangue has announced strict disciplinary measures for any government employees engaging in sexual activities at work. The leaked footage reportedly shows Baltasar Ebang Engonga, head of the National Financial Investigation Agency and a relative of the president, engaging in sexual acts in his office with various women, including the spouses of prominent officials.

Vice President Obiang condemned these actions, labeling them a “serious breach of conduct,” and ordered the suspension of any officials caught in similar acts. He has mandated the installation of surveillance cameras in government buildings, including ministries and courts, to prevent “indecent and illicit acts.”

The videos, widely circulated online, were leaked after Mr. Engonga’s arrest on separate corruption charges. State TV confirmed that the scandal has prompted a government investigation, while local authorities have implemented measures to limit internet traffic and curb the spread of the videos.

Equatorial Guinea’s chief prosecutor also stated that if Mr. Engonga is found to have a sexually transmitted infection, he could face additional legal consequences for endangering public health. Known as “Bello” for his appearance, Mr. Engonga has yet to comment publicly, though he recently posted on social media expressing sadness and emphasizing the importance of family.
