Cassia Sharpley, the ex-Miss Namibia winner of 2022, remains resolute in her determination to run for the presidency of the southern African nation, despite facing apparent disqualification due to her age.
Having garnered a significant following of 23,000 on Instagram, Sharpley announced her intention to embark on the path to become the President of the Republic of Namibia.
Despite being reminded by numerous followers that presidential candidates must be at least 35 years old according to Namibia’s constitution, the 23-year-old reiterated her ambitions.
Undeterred by the age requirement, Sharpley affirmed her presidential aspirations to her followers and hinted at sharing more details about her candidacy through upcoming YouTube videos.
“Let’s talk about me, that’s running for presidency,” she said on Instagram.
Expressing her intent to run as an independent candidate, Ms. Sharpley remains determined to pursue her political ambitions despite the constitutional age threshold.
