South African President Cyril Ramaphosa hosted German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Pretoria on Friday to enhance bilateral relations.
The visit marks 30 years of South African democracy and 35 years since the Berlin Wall’s fall.
Steinmeier, joined by 10 German CEOs, attended a business roundtable and laid a wreath at Freedom Park.
South Africa praised Germany as a vital partner, being its third-largest export market and a key investor.
The leaders reaffirmed commitments made in 2018 to deepen trade and diplomatic ties between their nations.
