Egypt issued a warning of “grave consequences” resulting from an escalation in tensions between Israel and the Palestinians, as conveyed in a statement from the foreign ministry published by the state news agency on Saturday.
It called for “exercising maximum restraint and avoiding exposing civilians to further danger”.
Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri conducted a conversation with European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell to address recent developments between Israel and the Palestinians since Friday evening. During the discussion, Shukri emphasized the importance of both sides exercising restraint to avert substantial risks.
