Ivory Coast initiates repatriation from conflict-hit Lebanon

The government of Ivory Coast evacuated its ambassador, diplomatic staff, and several nationals from Lebanon on Saturday due to the intensifying conflict in the region, according to the foreign ministry.

The evacuation operation involved around 100 Ivory Coast citizens residing in Lebanon, with approximately 60 expressing a desire to return home.

The ministry reported that the repatriation effort was organized in response to escalating hostilities between the Israeli military and Hezbollah forces in Lebanon.

About 20 citizens departed on Friday, with additional groups expected to follow as seats on commercial flights become available.

Ivory Coast’s government continues to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety of its remaining nationals in Lebanon.
