Renowned American rapper Kanye West has stirred anticipation among his Kenyan and Nigerian fanbase by including the two nations in the list of potential venues for his upcoming tour.
A provisional venue lineup, shared on West’s Instagram stories, indicates his plans to perform at Lagos’ Eko Energy City and Nairobi’s Nyayo International Stadium.
Expressing interest in performing at Egypt’s Giza Pyramids, West has yet to make an official announcement, but the tour speculation has ignited enthusiasm among fans in both countries. Social media has become a platform for playful jokes and banter about the prospective concerts.
“Kanye to Kenya? Dude probably said he must visit the country that has the same syllables as him,” one Kenyan posted on X.
Some fans humorously urged the rapper to reveal ticket prices early, allowing them ample time to save. Meanwhile, enthusiasts from other African countries, like South Africa, have expressed disappointment at being excluded from the potential tour, highlighting a recurrent concern about major Western artists neglecting the continent in their international tour plans.
