Key figures announce formation of Founding Alliance in Nairobi

The inaugural session to announce the formation of the Sudanese Founding Alliance, dubbed “Tasees,” was held in Nairobi, Kenya, with the participation of several prominent leaders from armed movements and political factions.

Among those present were Abdul Rahim Dagalo, Deputy Leader of the Rapid Support Forces, Abdel Aziz Al-Hilu, Leader of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North, and Fadlallah Barma Nasser, President of the Umma Party. Also present was Ibrahim Al-Mirghani, the political secretary of the Federal Party led by Mohamed Al-Hassan Al-Mirghani.

The alliance, which is preparing to sign the founding charter for a “Peace Government,” includes a range of political parties, armed movements, civil society organizations, and local administrative bodies, alongside the Rapid Support Forces.

The group, calling itself the “Sudanese Founding Alliance,” is committed to fostering unity and peace in Sudan. It aims to challenge the legitimacy of the junta-backed government in Port Sudan, which it deems illegitimate.
