The Government of National Unity (GNU) in Libya has seen its oil and gas minister suspended from work, according to a statement released Monday by the Administrative Control Agency (ACA).
The suspension is reportedly tied to a legal investigation.
The ACA, a state institution responsible for government performance oversight, announced the decision through its official Facebook page.
Abdullah Qadirbuh, head of the agency, signed the order suspending the minister stationed in Tripoli.
The agency cited “legal violations” revealed in Case No. 178 as the reason for the suspension.
Specific details regarding the case and alleged violations remain undisclosed.
Sources at the oil ministry informed Reuters that they haven’t received a copy of the suspension order yet.
Additionally, the ACA statement identified the minister only by his title and initials, leaving his full name undisclosed.
The Administrative Control Agency holds authority to challenge public position appointments and enforce accountability within the Libyan government.
