Libyan authorities have uncovered two mass graves in the southeastern desert, revealing nearly 50 migrant bodies.
The first grave, discovered on a farm in Kufra, contained 19 bodies, some showing signs of execution.
A second mass grave, uncovered after a raid on a human trafficking center in Kufra, held at least 30 bodies.
Survivors reported that up to 70 migrants may have been buried there.
The discoveries shed light on the ongoing migrant crisis in Libya, a key transit point for those fleeing poverty and conflict in Africa and the Middle East.
Migrants are often exploited by traffickers in a country plagued by instability since the 2011 NATO-backed ousting of Muammar Gaddafi.
On Sunday, authorities freed 76 migrants and arrested three suspects involved in the trafficking operation.
The incident is a stark reminder of the dangerous journey many migrants face in their quest to reach Europe.
