Over 2,000 dead in flooding in Libya’s east, says parallel PM

During a phone interview with a local television station, the leader of Libya’s eastern parliament-backed government reported that over 2,000 individuals had lost their lives due to a storm and flooding.

Osama Hamad told the television news presenter on al-Masar channel: “The missing are in the thousands, and the dead exceed 2,000”.

Hamad did not provide the source for the numbers of casualties, both deceased and missing.
