President Cyril Ramaphosa affirmed South Africa’s view of Russia as a valued ally during a bilateral meeting with President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday, ahead of the upcoming BRICS summit in Kazan.
In a statement shared by South Africa’s government news agency, Ramaphosa remarked, “We continue to see Russia as a valued ally, as a valued friend who supported us right from the beginning, from the days of our struggle against apartheid.”
He emphasized the significance of the discussions anticipated during the BRICS gathering, noting, “We are going to have important discussions here in Kazan within the BRICS family.”
