RSF chief Dagalo arrives in Kenya for civilian govt pact signing

Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, leader of Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), arrived in Nairobi late Sunday alongside leaders of armed movements and allied groups, sources told Al Arabiya.

Dagalo’s visit comes ahead of the signing of a political charter for a “Peace Government” set to be established in RSF-controlled areas and other regions, according to participating political figures.

Rebel leader El-Hadi Idris, head of the Sudan Revolutionary Front, confirmed ongoing preparations to announce a civilian government in these territories following the signing of the pact. He stated that multiple countries have provided assurances of recognition for the new administration, expected to be declared after February 18.

In a post on X, Idris said the agreement calls for an end to the war, addresses the root causes of Sudan’s crisis, and promotes national unity, including within the military. “We have outlined the necessity of forming this government, which will be a government of peace for all Sudan,” he wrote.
