Truckers strike in CAR accusing Wagner of killing driver

A strike by Cameroonian truckers has brought crucial supplies to the Central African Republic (CAR) to a standstill.

The drivers are protesting the alleged killing of one of their colleagues by Russian Wagner Group mercenaries.

The landlocked CAR heavily relies on imports, particularly from Cameroon, to meet its basic needs.

The disruption in supply chains has led to soaring prices of essential goods, causing significant hardship for the population.

The strike highlights the complex security situation in the CAR, where the Wagner Group has been active in recent years.

The incident underscores the risks faced by civilians and workers in the region, as well as the potential for such conflicts to have far-reaching humanitarian consequences.

As the situation unfolds, it remains to be seen how the CAR government and the international community will address the crisis and ensure the resumption of essential supplies.
