In the spirit of Eid al-Adha, a Muslim holiday of sacrifice, Turkish charities have been distributing humanitarian aid to families in Uganda. This act of generosity ensures underprivileged communities can participate in the festivities.
Turkish Ambassador to Uganda, Fatih Ak, expressed his appreciation for the Turkish community’s selfless contributions. “We are incredibly grateful to the generous individuals who are making donations to assist Ugandan families,” he stated.
The Turkish Diyanet Foundation, a prominent contributor, played a crucial role in channeling Turkish donations. Ahmet Tahsin Firat, the organization’s Ugandan coordinator, highlighted the distribution of meat from 7,000 cows to those in need. This initiative, along with similar efforts in other African countries, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe, embodies the core values of charity and empathy.
Ensar Kucukkaltan, representing the Turkish Deniz Feneri Association, confirmed their participation in distributing meat to underprivileged communities across over 20 countries, including Uganda.
Further strengthening these efforts, Abubalar Byango, Director of Uganda’s Byango Development and Charitable Organization, acknowledged the support of the Turkish Keskul organization. Their collaboration made possible the distribution of meat from 500 cows to residents of Eastern Uganda facing hardship.
Through these generous donations, Turkish charities have fostered a spirit of unity and compassion, ensuring a joyful Eid al-Adha for countless families in Uganda and beyond.
