Egyptian authorities have detained two Israeli citizens for allegedly assaulting three hotel workers in Taba, a Red Sea town near the Israel border, according to security sources on Sunday.
The Israelis are charged with assault and displaying force and will be held in custody for four days while investigations proceed, as per the same sources.
The incident, which occurred on Friday, left three Arab Israeli tourists and two Egyptian hotel workers injured following a fight at a Taba hotel.
Security sources revealed that the altercation began when an Arab Israeli tourist insulted an Egyptian hotel worker, leading to a broader conflict involving other tourists and staff.
Egypt’s state-affiliated Al-Qahera News reported that one Egyptian worker suffered serious injuries. The fight reportedly began when tourists refused to pay for hotel services.
