Ugandan military helicopter gunship crashes into a house

In the western Ntoroko district of Uganda, a tragic incident occurred as a military helicopter gunship crashed into a residence, resulting in the loss of the entire crew on board and claiming the life of an individual within the house, as confirmed by army spokesman Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye.

Details surrounding the cause of the crash remain unclear.

The helicopter met its fate on Tuesday near the border adjoining the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Ugandan military has been actively engaged in airstrikes against the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), a group linked to the Islamic State, known for their series of attacks in the Ntoroko region.

In response to the situation, President Yoweri Museveni has urged for the mobilization of local paramilitary defense units to provide support to the army in their efforts to combat the militants.
