Egypt aims to strengthen ties with other BRICS nations

Egypt, having recently joined BRICS at the beginning of this year, aims to enhance its connections with fellow member countries, with trade volumes already showing signs of improvement, according to Planning Minister Hala al-Said.

The country expresses its intention to strengthen cooperation with the BRICS bloc and the New Development Bank (NDB). Imports from BRICS nations have increased by approximately 33% since 2020, and exports to BRICS members have surged by 75%, as highlighted by the planning ministry.

Egypt, one of the six countries invited to join BRICS in 2024, anticipates that its inclusion will address foreign currency shortages and attract new investments, although analysts caution that tangible benefits may take time to materialize.
