EgyptAir boosts Libya connections with Misrata

In a move bolstering travel and economic connections between Egypt and Libya, EgyptAir announced the launch of direct flights from Cairo to Misrata, starting January 25th.

This marks the airline’s third Libyan destination, alongside Benghazi and Mitiga in Tripoli.

“The new route to Misrata reflects the growing demand for travel between our two countries,” stated Yehia Zakaria, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the EgyptAir Holding Company.

“We’re committed to facilitating convenient and affordable travel options for passengers, particularly the large Egyptian community residing and working in Libya.”

The weekly flight, departing Cairo every Thursday, will operate under the flight number MS827.

To celebrate the launch, EgyptAir is offering enticing discounts: the inaugural flight enjoys a 50% reduction, while the subsequent three flights booked before January 20th benefit from a 25% discount.

This expansion adds to EgyptAir’s existing Libyan network, bringing the total weekly flights to 15.

The airline already operates seven flights to Benghazi and seven to Mitiga in Tripoli. The increased connectivity caters to the growing business and personal travel needs between Egypt and Libya.

The launch of the Misrata route aligns with EgyptAir’s strategic focus on strengthening economic ties between the two nations.

“We believe this new service will further boost trade and investment opportunities, contributing to the prosperity of both countries,” added Zakaria.

Misrata, a major port city in western Libya, boasts a thriving economy and a rich cultural heritage. With EgyptAir’s new direct flights, travelers can now conveniently explore its historical sites, bustling markets, and picturesque coastline.
