Arab League foreign ministers convened in Istanbul late Friday to address the escalating war between Iran and Israel.
The meeting came ahead of a major weekend summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), also focused on the deepening conflict.
Israel launched its assault on June 13, citing concerns over Iran’s alleged nuclear weapons development.
Tehran responded swiftly, igniting the worst confrontation to date between the long-standing regional rivals.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry said around 40 top diplomats would attend the OIC summit, which includes a special session on the crisis.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is set to participate after meeting British, French, and German counterparts in Geneva on Friday.
Araghchi stated Tehran might return to diplomatic talks if Israel halts its military aggression.
Diplomatic sources told Turkey’s Anadolu Agency that the Arab League ministers are expected to issue a formal statement following their discussions.
As tensions soar, the world watches closely for signs of de-escalation or deeper conflict in the volatile region.
