The Israeli military announced on Tuesday that approximately 1,500 bodies of Hamas fighters have been discovered in Israel around the Gaza Strip, amid ongoing airstrikes on the Palestinian enclave.
“Approximately 1,500 bodies of Hamas fighters were found in Israel around the Gaza Strip,” military spokesman Richard Hecht told reporters, adding that security forces had “more or less restored control over the border” with Gaza.
“Since last night we know that no one came in .. but infiltrations can still happen.”
The military also stated that it had made significant progress in evacuating all communities located around the border.
Israel is grappling with a devastating assault by Hamas fighters who breached the border fence amidst a barrage of rocket attacks on Saturday morning, resulting in the loss of over 900 lives within Israel.
In retaliation, Israel has launched an extensive aerial and artillery bombardment targeting Hamas facilities in the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of at least 687 individuals in the coastal enclave.
